Seeking:

Lena Gates:

(Female, mid 30s). An artist. Confident and self-possessed, she's about to break through into the upper echelon of the New York art world. At home, she struggles to keep her marriage together with an increasingly distant husband.

Rebecca Marks:

(Female, mid 30s). An art dealer. A Manhattan sophisticate with ambition and meticulous taste, she runs a small respected art gallery in Chelsea. Behind her cool and poised exterior is a deeply wounded and angry big sister who has been betrayed by the medical system.

Jen Gates:

(Female, early 30s). Lena's sister-in-law, a waitress. Formerly a top-of-her-class student at Stanford with a near genius IQ, she has fallen out of the rat race, and finds herself in limbo between what she is, and what she has the potential to be.

Ian Gates:

(Male, late 30s). Lena's husband and Jen’s brother, a well-known radiologist. A major player in the New York City medical fundraising world, he has achieved a huge amount of success and earned a massive amount of attention for his efforts and his relatively young age. At the moment, though, he finds himself distracted, alone, and in need of an escape.

Gail Kleizer:

(Female, early 30s). Rebecca's sister. Intelligent, articulate, and at present, furious. She uses her anger as a means to hide her tremendous fear and suspicion that she's terminally ill.
