Seeking:
Emilie Du Chatelet:
Female, 42. Beautiful, intelligent woman. A French scientist in 1748. Sophisticated and charming, almost regal, always gets what she wants. Can explain scientific principles with the passion of life.
Voltaire:
Male, 54. Emilie's lover. The famous French playwright, philosopher, and scientist-wannabe from history. Passionate, lovable, virile, and charming.
Saint-Lambert:
Male, mid 20s. Emilie's handsome younger lover. Romantic with the arrogance and impracticality of youth. A smooth talker. Also plays Lewis: volatile, neurotic indie guy, works IT.
Olivia:
Female, 42. Modern professional woman. Scientist. A passionate researcher, loves her field, astronomy, but panics a bit when it comes to real life. Caring, kind. Also plays cameo role of Wet Nurse.
Millie:
Female, early 20s. Modern 21-year-old woman. Spontaneous, naturally curious, sincere, but not sure what to do with her life. Strong sense of adventure and odd sense of style. Italian descent. Also plays Pauline: Emilie’s daughter; smart, self-possessed with an independent streak.
Peter:
Male, 44. Olivia's husband. Elementary school teacher. Kind, supportive spouse. Also plays Monsieur Du Chatelet: Emilie’s husband. Aristocratic, worldly, fully tolerant of his wife’s affairs and eccentricities. Though occupied with his army duties, he does care for his wife and daughter.
