World premiere. Comedy-drama chronicles a summer in Southampton, when four sisters reunite to discuss what to do with the family home. As their lives and differing values unfold, they realize that they have been sharing more than just memories with each other. One thing leads to another when these second-generation Irish women exchange secrets that rattle the skeletons in the closet.

Seeking (please read descriptions carefully, and submit only if you are right for one or more roles and available throughout the contract dates):

Clare:

60s. The oldest sister. Lawyer. She decorated the house. Everything must be just so – in other words, her way. She’s the instigator of the house sale, and has made sure the vote is fixed.

Delia:

Early 50s. Proud of her Irish heritage, and of how far the family has come. Wickedly funny and wry. Tradition and having control are important to her. Dislikes anything that smacks of “Euro-trash”, including all of her new Southampton Italian neighbors. She’s not going to give up the old ways or the house without one helluva fight. Overly critical, over-bearing and judgmental.

Joan:

Mid - late 50s. Spinster sister. Content to be with the family. Most capable of “going along”. A bit unstructured and of the earth. Lacks ambition, and is just fine being that way – but now, as a woman of a certain age, she’s lonely. Kathy Bates type.

Cathleen:

Late 40s - early 50s. The artiste. Well put-together. Successful gallery owner who is currently experiencing the downturn in the market. Enjoys the finer things of life – good wine, good art and a good man – even if he’s her sister’s husband. Likes money and what it stands for – not concerned about being Irish, or anything else for that matter. The most contemporary sister.

Nick:

Early 50s. Successful, handsome doctor. Restless. Caught in a world of women without really knowing which way to turn. Has regrets about his unfaithfulness, but is unhappy in and out of his marriage. Can’t move forward or backward.

Worth:

Mid 50s - 60s. Nice guy, but has learned to tolerate – and ignore – his wife Clare. She rules the roost, and he looks for ways to break the rules – without causing a fuss, or getting caught. Would rather be on a golf course where he can get away from the family.

Housing note: First week housing in hotel (private room – no kitchen). After first week, each actor will have his/her own one-bedroom apartment – no shares. Housing is in brownstones, 2 ½ blocks from the theatre. Complimentary gym membership and parking are available.
