The Witch:
late 30s-early 50s. Outwardly self-serving, possessive, sarcastic, vain, charismatic. Inwardly insecure and lonely. Ugly-then-gorgeous. Mezzo-Soprano/belt.
Baker:
mid 30s-early 40s, lost both his mother and father and he wants to have his own family badly. Kind, harried, warm-hearted and insecure. An average working man. Baritone.
Baker’s Wife:
mid 30s-early 40s, determined and bright. Wry and dry but a romantic at heart. Will do most anything to get what she wants. Mezzo-Soprano/belt.
Cinderella’s Prince:
late 20s-30s. Vain and gorgeous, self-dramatizing and endlessly confident. A hero in his own life’s story. Reasonably tall. Also plays Wolf: Hungry and insatiable, seductive and sexy. Baritone .
Narrator/Mysterious Man:
50s-60s, a mischievous vagrant with a secret, intellectual and pleasant. A good storyteller who relates directly with the audience. Baritone.
Cinderella’s Mother:
late 40s-50s, nurturing and loving. A spirit, who dispenses useful advice. Also plays Granny, Little Red's fiesty, savage grandmother. Mezzo-Soprano/belt.
Cinderella’s Stepmother:
40s, Beautiful but mean-spirited. Mezzo-Soprano/belt.
