Preparation Please prepare 2 Golden Age of B'way songs: Cole Porter, the Gershwin's, Rodgers & Hart, etc. Sondheim, Jerry Herman are OK. Please no rock musicals or Andrew Lloyd Webber. One classic ballad and one character/comedy song. Be prepared to sing the entire song. Bring 2 H/Rs.

Breakdown
42nd Street Moon celebrates its 21st Season in 2013-14. The company presents intimately produced versions of uncommon musicals, specializing in early to mid-20th Century American Musical Theatre. Since 2008, our shows have been fully staged, with choreography and are performed off-book. http://www.42ndstmoon.org
Rehearsals are typically weeknights from 6 - 10 pm and weekends from Noon to 5 or 1:00 to 6:00 pm as per production needs. You may not be called to every rehearsal, but you will need to keep these times available for us. The rehearsal on the Sunday prior to opening runs Noon to 10 pm.
Regular show schedule: Wednesdays & Thursdays at 7 pm; Friday nights at 8 pm; Saturday evenings at6 pm and Sunday afternoons at 3 pm. There is one added Family/Student Matinee at 1 pm on the second Saturday of the run.

Note: The play takes place in Budapest and all characters except Anna are Hungarian, but we are not looking for accents.
COUNTESS PEGGY PALAFFI - Soprano. Mid 40s to early 50s. Willy's sister, wise-cracking but still high society, strong sense of humor - comic, elegant.
BRIGITTA (ANGEL) - Soprano. Early to mid 20s. Beautiful, other-worldly beauty. Air of complete innocence. Doesn't know how to be crafty or wily. Her open angelic ways cause endless embarrassment for her husband.
HARRY MISCHKA SZIGETTI - Character man with baritone. Late 40s to late 50s. Crafty, a business wheeler-dealer. Had an affair with Peggy many years ago.
PETER MUELLER - Tenor or baritone. Late 20s, early 30s. Excellent mover. Willy's assistant - handsome, charming, clever, thinks well on his feet - always has a solution.
ANNA MURPHY - Alto. Late 20s. Tap dances - an American girl on vacation in Budapest, can be conniving, butter wouldn't melt type.

DUCHESS OF HOLSTEIN-KUHOFF - Mezzo. Late 40s to early 60s. Very wealthy, matronly type. MAGDA SZABO - Mezzo. 30s to early 40s. A very "close friend" of the Duchess / Modiste - elegant, efficient. CHARLIE BROWN Male, 30s, simply Charlie Brown. Lonely yet lovable, simple yet smart, sometimes melancholy yet ever hopeful. Snoopy’s caregiver, wants to be believed in and loved.
SALLY BROWN -Female, 20s, adorable, perky, creative, spontaneous. Charlie Brown’s sister, the bubbly one in the family.
LINUS -Male, 20s, philosopher, down-to-earth, but with insecurity issues as indicated by his almost ever-present blanket. Ever a romantic, believes with his whole heart.
PEPPERMINT PATTY -Female, 20s, a tomboy, unaware, frank, doesn’t understand “love,” thinks no one will love her because of her freckles and big nose, must be a strong singer for a deeply felt ballad.
SNOOPY - Tenor. Male, 40's or younger. Man's best friend, enthusiastic, observant, clever, showy, must move well, "snappy".
WOODSTOCK - Female, 20s or 30s, non-speaking role, very small in size, tiny, excellent movement/dancer, a bit "featherbrained".
