Jack Tournay:
(Male, mid to late 30s). Classic newspaper and family man; a widower who struggles to connect with his 13 year old son. Confident and sincere, he gets in over his head when he must deal with the consequences of his role in an elaborate lie. Seeking a strong, lovable leading man who can navigate an escalating web of moral complexity. Play is set in 1899, actor must possess an understanding of period manners and behavior.
Al Stevens:
(Male, mid to late 20s). A junior reporter for an underachieving newspaper. Open-hearted and trusting, he becomes consumed with guilt over his role in a hoax that gets out of hand. He is self-punishing and ultimately introspective, but largely able to feign a sense of good cheer. Seeking an actor with an eager, boyish energy with the capacity for moments of sincere reflection. Play is set in 1899, actor must possess an understanding of period manners and behavior.
Harriet Sparrow:
(Female, mid to late 20s). Razor smart, fast talking, ambitious young career woman trapped under the glass ceiling of turn-of-the-century America. Mercurial and mischievous, she slyly assumes various identities in search of the truth, in the spirit of investigative journalism. Seeking a dynamic, highly versatile actress who can shift into multiple personas with confidence and flair. Play is set in 1899, actor must possess an understanding of period manners and behavior.
