Two upscale Cobble Hill couples meet to discuss how to make peace after their sons have been in a playground skirmish. What starts out as a civilized attempt to smooth out the rough edges of conflict ends up revealing all of the very uncivilized emotions that brew underneath. A comedy of manners… without the manners.
SEEKING:
Michael:
(40s) He’s a big guy. A blue collar down-to-earth businessman. Virile and opinionated disguised in the civilized appearance that his wife has crafted for him. Successful. No nonsense. Politically incorrect guy playing nice for the sake of his wife and kids. A man’s man. Actor has to have a generous spirit and great comic timing. He’s not a mean guy, just used to cutting to the chase and by-passing the ritual of social graces and manners. His wife is the civilizing force in the household and he tries to respect it, but scratch the surface and you get one of the boys. Physically imposing, he has worked in NYC construction most of his life.
Veronica:
(40s) Attractive. Intelligent. Earnest. She’s the PTA mom that knows the most about every issue that arises. She truly believes that she can make the world a better place. She’s not a hypocrite; she really believes it. There’s just one small caveat: she wants others to behave the way she thinks is best too. Many causes are near and dear to her heart, but number one is the welfare of her children. She believes that we can all get along, but that each of us must take personal responsibility for his/her behavior. It is her mission to be sure that everyone in her family does this and everyone who encounters her family as well. Smart. Well-read. All things Africa are her passion. Missionary is her spirit. Her husband’s refinement is one of her pet projects. Actress must understand comedy and have excellent comic timing.
