LUCY: Female, mid to late 20s. As she falls prey to Dracula she transforms emotionally and physically from a frail Victorian ingenue to a demonic force; requires extended acting style without melodrama, must be physically strong and agile as this is a physically demanding role; actress covers full range from sweet innocence to wildly sensual animal.
DR. SEWARD: Male, early to mid 30s, the psychiatrist at a sanitorium outside of London. His beloved fiance Mina has died recently and now his dear friend Lucy has the same symptons; he is kind, intellectual, academic; caught between his heart and his mind as he faces the unthinkable.
DRACULA: late 30s-early 50s). Disguised as a distinguished, old-world gentleman who is a bit stiff, formal, socially uncomfortable; in truth he is not a tragic romantic hero but a dark, dangerous animal, a savage, fierce monstrous predator; actor must be in excellent physical condition; please prepare the audition with an “Eastern European" accent.

BOB CRATCHIT: Male, late 30s-early 40s, extremely warm, gentle, emotionally available with a quick sense of humor. Actor must be physically strong enough to carry a small child, and work well with children as he is a primary contact with the children in this production.
