Dividing the Estate is a human comedy about a Southern dynasty in crisis. Living in present day Texas and ruled by octogenarian matriarch Stella, the family must confront their past as they prepare for an uncertain future with foxy cunning, fascination and hypocritical virtue. At odds over their fate of their dwindling inheritance, , several generations of the well-to-do Gordon family debate whether or not they should divide the estate while their mother is still alive in order to ensure themselves financial independence.
