Seeking the following for this new musical:
Late 40s-early 50s. Strong baritone voice. The patriarch of a lower class NY Jewish family. He is the janitor at the local temple and he also trains his son in boxing. A stubborn, prideful, religious man. Lead.
Mid to late 40s. Eli's wife. Strong mezzo voice. A skilled, smart, stern woman. She is not supportive of her son’s professional boxing ambitions. Edie is the glue that holds this family together, both financially and emotionally. Lead.
30-40; he is of some mixed ethnicity, but nobody is exactly sure what. Strong baritone who can also rap. A Jewish Don King. A wildly successful boxing promoter. Proud, loud, and extravagant. Often a caricature of himself, Moe is a complete eccentric, a man of his own making. He is always on the look out for talent, and has a track-record for creating a "show" outside of the ring. Good supporting role.
Female, 30-35. Attractive, and maternal. Must have a gorgeous soprano voice with a good mix – clean, strong F. A progressive Jew with an appreciation for tradition. Good supporting role.
