Seeking:

Barbara Fordham:

Mid 40s. Female. Oldest of three sisters. Mother of Jean and married to Bill. She’s a fighter with a ferocious wit, but she’s burying a lot of pain. She is the emotional center of the play.

Bill Fordham:

Late 40s. Male. Barbara’s husband. Likes being the “good cop” in respect to his daughter. Tries to keep an even-keel, while his marriage is falling apart.

Jean Fordham:

18 or older to play 14-15. Female. Barbara and Bill’s daughter. She acts out to seem older and wiser than her years. Bright and quick witted . Sharp.

Ivy Weston:

Mid 40s. Female. Violet and Bev’s middle daughter. She has shouldered a lot of abuse from her family. It’s taken its toll on her confidence, but over the course of the play, she gathers the strength to fight for her own needs. Her good heart finds love for the first time in her 40’s.

Karen Weston:

Early-mid 40s. Female. The youngest daughter of Violet and Bev. She is chatty and insecure, with huge dreams and a giant dose of self denial to get her through the day.

Charlie Aiken:

Late 50s-early 60s. Male. Mattie Fae’s husband. Pretty easy-going. Other people’s drama seems to roll off his back, but will be brutally honest if pushed.

Little Charles Aiken:

Mid-late 30s. Male. Mattie Fae and Charlie’s son. Sweet, but kind of an uninformed knucklehead. He doesn’t understand how the world works.

Johnna Montevata:

Mid- 20s. Female. Native-American. The Westons’ housekeeper. A calming presence. No-nonsense, but in a kind way.

Sheriff Deon Gilbeau:

Caucasian Male. Late 40s. A solid-citizen. Has made a nice life for himself as the Sheriff in the town where he grew up.
