Seeking the following role only at these auditions:
Adult Buddy:
30s, high baritone or tenor, convincing Southern dialect. A newly successful Manhattan writer at an emotional and professional crossroads. The show is his happy memory of growing up in Alabama with his beloved cousin Sook; he is our guide. A genial, charismatic presence throughout the show, but he is also a somewhat troubled soul, struggling to find his voice. The show is structured as a flashback, when Buddy as an adult (in the 1950s) revisits the rural Alabama small town where he grew up, and remembers scenes from his childhood (in the 1930s.) (A young actor plays Buddy as a child.)
