Alberta Council for the Ukrainian Arts' Signature Artist Series for December Stars Next Week
The series starts Friday December 8 and runs until Saturday December 23.
Alberta Council for the Ukrainian Arts' (ACUA) monthly Signature Artist Series for December starts Friday December 8 and runs until Saturday December 23. The series features Ukrainian artists' work on display in ACUA's public viewing gallery at 10554 110 Street, Unit 100 during regular gallery hours. The Opening Night Reception is Friday December 8.
October's exhibit includes works by painters Irina Grobman and Inna Nagaytseva.
Irina Grobman graduated from Chernovtsy State University, Chernovtsy, Ukraine with a Bachelor (Honors) Degree in Philology, the study of languages. She has been displaying her art in galleries in Canada since 2013 including Mill Pond Gallery in Richmond, Ontario; Gallery 260; Aurora Town Hall in Aurora Ontario; Newmarket Studio Tour.
Inna Nagaytseva has always loved to draw but started to seriously engage in this activity in 2017. After trying various materials such as acrylic, ink, markers, she was presented with an old set of the Neva palette of 24 colours and decided to try watercolour. After that, her life turned upside down and she fell in love with this material and decided to conquer it in her favourite ways.
ACUA's Signature Artist Series is a unique monthly artist exhibit dedicated to showcasing Edmonton-based artists of Ukrainian origin and descent. Art is displayed through a variety of mediums, telling stories of Ukrainian family, culture, and experiences.
Alberta Council for the Ukrainian Arts facilitates and encourages greater appreciation and awareness of the Ukrainian arts and their cultural significance to the greater Alberta community. Through exhibitions, tours, festivals, educational programs, workshops, and special projects, ACUA promotes growth and provides support to Ukrainian arts and artists living in Alberta.
