THE BIGOT Continues to Take the Country by Storm

THE BIGOT Continues to Take the Country by Storm

The timely play that mixes social commentary, family drama and humor courtesy of playwrights Gabi Mor & Eva Mor is now being produced by FUNKY LITTLE THEATER in Colorado Springs CO. The regional premiere kicks off on Jan 19 and runs through Feb 3 2018.

THE BIGOT tells the story of Jim, a dying curmudgeon who is determined to cling to his prejudiced views to the very end despite the best efforts of his liberal son and lesbian neighbors. As the NEW YORK DAILY NEWS described, "Jim stirs echoes of 1970s sitcom bigot Archie Bunker "All in the Family" icon. In the present play, it's more like Archie Bunker 2.0."

Colorado Springs is the latest stop for the acclaimed play, which is fresh off a successful run in New York City. Productions are also scheduled in the coming months in Orlando, Sanford FL. Los Angeles and FT. Lauderdale FL .

The Funky Little Theater Company production is directed by Kim Bennett, and stars Bruce Carter as Jim, Chris Medina as Seth, Desiree Myers as Aysha and Cara Marshall as Paula.

The Funky Little Theater Company has received numerous awards for its work. In 2014, they won Silver for BEST PLAY (Best of the Springs, The Gazette) and two acting awards for the production In a Dark Dark House by Neil LaBute. In addition to many other acting awards they also received Bronze for BEST THEATRE COMPANY (Best of the Springs, The Gazette) in 2016. In 2015, Bill Wheeler's Theater Colorado blog recognized Funky for 'Outstanding Service to the Community' and 'Original Work Showcase' for their biannual productions of 24SEVEN (a 24-hour theatre project).
