Paramount Theatre's THE LITLLE MERMAID Extended Through 1/15

By:

Due to record advance sales, Aurora's Paramount Theatre has announced a one-week extension of its upcoming, holiday-season production of Disney's The Little Mermaid.

Originally scheduled for a six week run November 23, 2016 through January 8, 2017, Disney's The Little Mermaid will now run seven weeks, through January 15, 2017.

A statement from the theater reads:

"Response to Disney's The Little Mermaid at the box office has been incredible. We are already selling out shows. We need to add performances to even begin to try to accommodate the unprecedented response from the community," confirmed Tim Rater, President and CEO, Paramount Theatre.

We presented Mary Poppins in 2014 and had over 62,000 people (a Paramount record) through the doors," added Rater. "We're on pace to easily surpass that mark by 50 percent. So before we even open, we are confidently adding an extra week of shows."

Previews start November 23. Press opening is Sunday, November 27 at 5:30 p.m.

Performances through the original closing date, January 8, remain Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.; Thursday at 7 p.m.; Friday at 8 p.m.; Saturday at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.; and Sunday at 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Exceptions: No show Thursday, November 24 (Thanksgiving). Show times onChristmas Eve, Saturday, December 24, are noon and 5 p.m. No shows Christmas Day.

Newly added extension performances are Thursday, January 12 at 10 a.m.; Friday, January 13 at 8 p.m.; Saturday, January 14 at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.; and Sunday, January 15 at 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Single tickets, on sale now, remain $47 to $59 for all performances. The Paramount Theatre is located at 23 E. Galena Blvd. in downtown Aurora.
