#FIRSTWORLDSANTA Runs at Denver's Dangerous Theatre, Now thru 12/22

By:

"#FirstWorldSanta", written and directed by Winnie Wenglewick and featuring Winnie Wenglewick, HB Gunnell and Brittany Lacour, will play tonight, November 30 - December 22 at Denver's Dangerous Theatre, running Fridays @ 9:00, Saturdays @ 7:00 and Sundays @ 3:00. Tickets $20.00, $5.00 discount for students, seniors, military and CTG members.

Denver's Dangerous Theatre has not been kind to Santa over the years. For three years in a row we killed him in the play "Who Killed Santa?". Then we shot him in the leg in "Kentucky Claus and the Rebel Elves". We gave Santa a break last year but are back this year with an irreverent holiday play about everyone's favorite holiday character. That is the problem. Santa exists just because people believe in him. To be Santa in the year 2013 sucks. He has to have licensing agreements with Apple, Microsoft, Lego and every video game maker known. The elves are unionized. PETA is after him over the reindeer. The mob is trying to move in on his operations. Now diagnosed with Celiac's Disease, Mrs. Claus is trying to make a decent gluten free cookie for him. Santa is just plain cranky and wants to call it quits. How can you quit when everyone want s to believe in a jolly fat guy who brings you free stuff?

In 2013 Santa is no longer a jolly old elf. Being Santa is no longer fun. Kids no longer play with balls and dolls and trains. He has to have licensing agreements with Apple and Microsoft and Lego and every video game maker on the planet. The Elves are unionized. PETA is after him about the reindeer. The mob is moving in on his operations. All he wants is a good gluten free Christmas cookie. Is there such a thing? To top it all off, some author has snubbed him in a book about mythical beings. Santa is tired and cranky and wants to retire. The only one who might be able to help him is Mrs. Claus. Maybe.
