In 2010, Equinox presented Reefer Madness: The Musical for the first time to Denver audiences, and it was a huge hit (pun intended.) The show was recognized by the Denver Post with an Ovation Award nomination for Best Musical. Equinox returned in 2011 with another look at Reefer Madness again, selling to packed houses and sold-out crowds. Now, for its exciting 10th season, Equinox is returning to the first musical it produced as a company, and is thrilled to bring back Reefer Madness: The Musical.

Inspired by the original 1936 film of the same name, this raucous musical comedy takes a tongue-in-cheek look at the hysteria caused when clean-cut kids fall prey to marijuana, leading them on a hysterical downward spiral filled with evil jazz music, sex and violence. You won't be able to resist the spoofy fun of Reefer Madness. The addictive and clever musical numbers range from big Broadway-style showstoppers to swing tunes like 'Down at the Ol' Five and Dime' and the Vegas-style 'Listen to Jesus, Jimmy,' featuring J.C. Himself leading a chorus of showgirl angels. This dynamic show will go straight to your head!

Reefer Madness features the talents of: Todd Black as the Lecturer, Andrew Alber as Jimmy, Emily Ebertz as Mary, James Crapes as Jack, Anna Sturtz as Sally, Aimee Corley as Mae, Kade Fritzler as Ralph, Patrick Brownson as Jesus and Shena Hinger, Misha McCulloch, Rachel McCulloch, Meaghan Aylward, Ally Barwick, Willa Bograd, Jordan Duran, Joshua Leisure and George Sepmier rounding out the packed ensemble.
