The Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center Board of Trustees announced today the hire of David A. Dahlin as the new president and CEO.

After a comprehensive national search, Dahlin emerged as the stand-out candidate, possessing the skills, talents and qualifications to lead the organization into a successful future.

Serving in increasing positions of responsibility at Colorado Springs-based Compassion International for 19 years, including Chief of Staff, Chief Operating Officer, and ultimately Executive Vice President, Dahlin has demonstrated outstanding capacity for leadership, strategy development, staff development, fund development, operations, communications and brand cultivation.

"I have lived in Colorado Springs for 25 years, know the beauty and strength of this community, and am thrilled to bring my extensive experience to such a respected arts institution" Dahlin says. "I look forward to leveraging the power of the arts in not only contributing to the soul of the community, but in exposing people to diverse perspectives, and driving a vibrant economy."

Dahlin considers himself an eclectic leader with diverse global experiences, and personal interests as an amateur musician, scientist, gardener, cook, and philosopher. He's also a highly experienced leader in the nonprofit sector who has raised millions of dollars, motivated and led thousands of employees and managed extremely large budgets. He will contribute a rich leadership background, passion for people, culture and humanity, talent in nonprofit management and operations, and solid expertise in branding and organizational communications, to a strong standard of excellence at the FAC.

"We have such a strong staff and executive team who have been creating top-quality experiences and programming," says Nechie Hall, who has served as interim president and CEO since December. "David's refreshing vision and proven business acumen will complement that collective talent with exactly the kind of leadership the organization needs."

"The board is delighted that a CEO of David's international caliber will be leading this institution," says Jim Raughton, FAC Board Chair. "We would like to especially thank Nechie Hall for going above and beyond as our interim CEO. Not content to just keep the Fine Arts Center afloat, she sailed full steam ahead. As she hands the tiller to David Dahlin, it's with confidence that our rich legacy remains in good hands."
