Ashton and Abster Productions Present GOOD TELEVISION, Now thru 11/1

By:

The regional premiere of "Good Television" - a behind-the-scenes look at reality TV - will open today, October 10 for a four-week run at the Aurora Fox Arts Center.

The play, which premiered last year at the Atlantic Theater Company in New York City, is about what happens when a top-rated cable reality show - Rehabilitation - descends on a South Carolina trailer park to do an episode on a young meth addict and his family. It features compelling, close-up looks at both the extended family and the over-extended TV production company.

Described as "one of the best plays I've seen in quite a while" on nytheatre.com and praised in the New York Times for its "crisp, believable dialogue," the play was written by veteran actor Rod MacLachlan, whose wife was a producer on the actual TV hit show, Intervention.

This regional premiere is directed by John Ashton and features a powerful ensemble cast of eight of the area's strongest actors - Lauren Bahlman, Abby Apple Boes, Ben Cowhick, Sam Gilstrap, Steef Sealy, Christine Sharpe, Miriam Tobin, and Jack Wefso.

"We're excited to bring this powerful play to Colorado," said Boes, who is co-producing with Ashton. "Nobody's doing anything else like this, and it's a subject that fascinates people."

Performances of "Good Television" are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., from October 9 (Pay-What-You-Can Preview), October 10 (Opening) to November 1, at the Aurora Fox's Studio Theater, 9900 East Colfax Avenue, in Aurora. Tickets are $26; $20 Student/Senior and available at aurorafox.org or by calling the Fox Box Office at 303-739-1970.
