10th Annual Neustadt JAAMM Festival Kicks Off this October

The 10th annual Neustadt JAAMM Festival, a celebration of Jewish arts, authors, movies and music, will be presented at Denver's Mizel Arts and Culture Center at the Staenberg-Loup Jewish Community Center starting October 26th and running through November 12th, 2017. Tickets for the festival will go on sale September 22nd online at maccjcc.org/jaamm and at the box office at 303-316-6360, located at the Mizel Arts and Culture Center at 350 S. Dahlia Street in Denver.

This year's JAAMM Festival offers a wide array of cultural events from speeches by famed authors to performances by dance companies and musicians. There will be several screenings of award-winning movies and a keynote speech given by renowned film critic Leonard Maltin. A festival highlight will be an event with Pulitzer-prize winning journalist and author of "Life, Animated," Ron Suskind. JAAMM will also feature the acclaimed dance company, TARARAM, a 'Stomp'-style Israeli percussion and dance troupe, and Denver's outstanding contemporary dance group, the Wonderbound Dance Company will perform. Featured musicians include operatic bass, Anthony Mordechai Tzvi Russell, who will sing traditional Ashkenazi Jewish and African American music, and the award-winning Israeli-American jazz pianist, Tamir Hendelman and his trio will explore jazz standards, Brazilian music, and the blues. The JAAMM Festival will also have a bookstore available for patrons to peruse a variety of notable works by Jewish authors. The JAAMM Festival is presented in part by: The Piñon Trail Foundation, The Rose Community Foundation, and the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation. Ongoing operation support is provided by the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District.
