Possum Point Players to Welcome Directors for New Workshop, 6/28

On Sunday June 28, 2015 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, seven veterans who, among a myriad of directorial and acting credits have directed for the Possum Point Players, will discuss their directing styles as they respond to questions such as: 'How do you handle difficult actors?' and 'What if a cast member has a different view of his or her character than you?'
Possum Point Players to Host Workshop for Directors, 6/28

On Sunday June 28, 2015 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, The Possum Point Players will host a workshop with an emphasis on theatrical stage direction.  The workshop will be held in the theater at Possum Hall, 441 Old Laurel Highway in Georgetown.  There will be no charge to attend this workshop and all are invited to attend.  It will be geared for seasoned directors, those who would like to confirm their skills and knowledge, and neophytes who aspire to direct staged productions.

When the title of the musical is followed by 'based on the book/film...', there tends to be one of two reactions- excitement (LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, MARY POPPINS, RAGTIME) or dread (SISTER ACT, GHOST, CARRIE). And while the Broadway-bound BECAUSE OF WINN DIXIE, now playing through May 10th at the Delaware Theatre Company, does not quite reach the level of LA CAGE or RAGTIME, it's hard to resist the feel-good charm bubbling off the stage.

Clear Space Theatre Company is in rehearsal for its May production of LITTLE WOMEN: THE MUSICAL, the 2005 Broadway musical rendition of Louisa May Alcott's classic story Little Women. The show opens on May 1 for three weekends at the theatre in Rehoboth Beach. Two real-life "little women" - 14-year-old Jamie Ditzel and 17-year-old Rose Slavin - are enjoying their first experiences in an adult, main stage show.

Clear Space Theatre Company Sets Cast of THE LITTLE MERMAID

The Clear Space Theatre Company has announced the cast for their Spotlight on Young Performers production of THE LITTLE MERMAID (MTI's JR Series Version). The 2008 Broadway musical was based on the classic1989 Disney animated film and tells the story of Ariel and her aquatic friends in a magical, underwater kingdom. The beautiful young mermaid Ariel longs to leave her ocean home-and her fins-behind and live in the world above. But first, she'll have to defy her father King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch Ursula, and convince the handsome Prince Eric that she's the girl whose enchanting voice he's been seeking. The show is directed by Clear Space Company Manager, David Button, with choreography by Shondelle Graulich of the Delaware Stage School, and musical direction by Melanie Bradley.
