Segerstrom Center Showcases Artwork by Artists with Disabilities

By: Sep. 29, 2011

Segerstrom Center for the Arts' 25th Anniversary Week festivities includes an outdoor art showcase created by local artists with disabilities. The artwork is part of a traveling exhibit produced by VSA, a local, state and international organization that makes the arts accessible to people of all abilities.

The Center's showcase is outdoors, mounted on the fencing that surrounds Polyglot Theatre's We Built This City project on the Arts Plaza. Twenty-five pieces are featured. Each work has been photographed, enlarged and printed on weatherproof materials so it will remain bright, colorful and accessible to the public now through October 9.

The popular Family Series engages, enchants and inspires youngsters with the magic of live
performance. International Artists combine music, dance and theater that can be enjoyed by the entire family, creating experiences that instill an appreciation for the arts and create lifelong memories.
