Join us for the Summer of Love at TBTA!

"HAIR" takes place in the late 1960s during a time when many young Americans found themselves against the Vietnam War and advocating peace and community. The rock musical focuses on a tribe of hippies living in New York City promoting free love, long hair and anti-war protests. One tribe member in particular, Claude, is having trouble deciding if he should burn his draft card, thus succumbing to the counter-culture lifestyle of his friends, or enlist in the war at his parents’ insistence. This groundbreaking musical was one of the first to take an honest look at interracial relationships, drug use, and current events as they were occurring in society.

Michael Burnett, the show’s director, felt that while the show looks at a specific time in our nation’s history, the themes of peace, love and true community are timeless.
