The Hartt School Presents Hartt Wind Ensemble and Symphony Band

The Hartt School is set to present the Hartt Wind Ensemble and Symphony Band on Friday, December 9, at 7:30 PM, in Lincoln Theater, University of Hartford, 200 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford. This combined concert of the Hartt Wind Ensemble and Symphony Band features James E. Jackson III leading the Symphony Band and Glen Adsit directing the Wind Ensemble. The concert features two guest conductors. Graduate student Matt Forte leads the Symphony Band on Ron Nelson’s Passacaglia and Ertan Esener conducts members of the Wind Ensemble on the Oliver Messian’s 20th century masterpiece Oiseaux Exotiques.

Concluding the concert is Susan Botti’s latest wind ensemble work Terra Cruda, which is a powerful new work that explores aspects of aggression.

The Hartt School is the comprehensive performing arts school of the University of Hartford that offers innovative degree programs in music, dance, and theatre.
