Opera House Players, Inc., located in the Broad Brook section of East Windsor, CT, announces auditions for the musical LITTLE WOMEN. Auditions will be held at the Broad Brook Opera House, 107 Main Street, Broad Brook, CT on Sunday, May 15 from 6-9pm and Monday, May 16 from 7-10pm. Be prepared to sing 16-32 bars of a strong musical theater song in the proper key (no pop songs, please). A ballad is best and should NOT be from the score of Little Women. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring your own headshot, if you have one.

The show will be directed by John Pike. Rehearsals will begin around July 21. Performances are Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from September 9 through 25, 2011.

Based on Louisa May Alcott's own family experiences (and novel), LITTLE WOMEN follows the adventures of Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy March as they grow up in Civil War America. The beloved story of the March sisters is timeless and deals with issues as relevant today as when they were written. Now, this wonderful narrative has been brought to life as an exhilarating new musical filled with glorious music, dancing and heart. The powerful score soars with the sounds of personal discovery, heartache and hope - the sounds of a young America finding its voice.
