The Galleries of Shadowbox Live, curated by Amy Ivanoff, feature a mix of up-and-coming artists with more established ones, celebrating the creative talents our city has to offer.

Exhibits can be viewed year-round at the Brewery District theater and Backstage Bistro located at 503 S. Front Street, and Ivanoff often organizes a meet-the-artist reception to inaugurate an exhibit, where attendees can speak directly to the artists and purchase the original art.

Currently on display are works from award-winning photographers Jim Schwartz and Will Shivley, as well as mix media from Mireya Shoo.

Ivanoff strives to capture the spirit of the Shadowbox Live shows with the exhibits she coordinates. The artwork selected from Schwatz, Shively, and Schoo's collections supports the current show Body Heat, and features nude subjects.

Adding to these stunning exhibits, Ivanoff will unveil works from Maria Francesca Flemming and Dwaine MacDonald that have a rock 'n' roll theme, selected to support Shadowbox Live's latest "rockumentary" Evolutionaries: The Stories and Music of David Bowie and Prince.

Fleming's exhibit will include a series of paintings, some created at concerts, and MacDonald will display a large colored pencil drawing of David Bowie. Also included will be a collage of memorabilia featuring the late local rocker Ronald Koal.

The exhibits will be on display until March 18. Viewing times are 11:00am - 2:00pm Tuesdays - Fridays, 5:00pm - 7:00pm Tuesdays - Saturdays, 4:00pm - 7:00pm Sundays, and by appointment. To schedule an appointment, contact Shadowbox Live Art Director Amy Lay at Amylay@shadowboxlive.org.
