Cleveland Orchestra presents 38th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Concert This January

The Cleveland Orchestra's 38th annual free concert in celebration of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. takes place at Severance Hall on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. conducted by Music Director Franz Welser-M st. The concert is free, however tickets are required. Information on how to request tickets is included below. This concert is sponsored by KeyBank and supported by a grant from the Paul M. Angell Family Foundation.

'Urinetown: The Musical' opened on Broadway in 2001, but its path from lyricist Greg Kotis traveling Europe, encountering a pay toilet, getting an idea for a story, joining with Mark Hollman, writing the lyrics together, Hollman writing the music, previewing the show at the New York's Fringe Festival, and getting it on Broadway, was filled with pitfalls. Mainly, producers were turned off by the title.

During their two weeks together in the desert, the Little Prince tells the Aviator about his adventures through the galaxy, how he met the Lamplighter and the Businessman and the Geographer, and about his strained relationship with a very special flower on his own tiny planet.
