Over 8,700 Attend 2014 Cincinnati Fringe Festival

The eleventh annual Cincinnati Fringe Festival came to a close on June 7th after another year of growth in both attendance and quality of productions. The 2014 Festival featured 34 productions (30 Performance Fringe and 4 FringeNext) as well as 7 special events.

After the first day of performances, come hear each Fringe artist perform a 60 second preview of their performance and enjoy drinks at Know Theatre's bar. As part of the Cincinnati Fringe Festival's Nightly Bar Series, Fringe artists will have one minute to pitch their production during the Fringe Preview Night on Wednesday, May 29th at 10:30 pm at Know Theatre's Underground. This will be a time to hear the upcoming productions of the week and mingle with Fringe artists, volunteers, staff and other audience members. The Cincinnati Fringe Festival will continue until June 8th with over 150+ performances from 34 productions and 6 special events bringing their talents to Cincinnati from 8 different states across the country and 2 internationally.

Lynn Meyers, Producing Artistic Director of Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati, announced today that ETC will host a stage reading of 'Soldiers' Christmas,' a new play based on The Christmas Truce of 1914, on June 28, 2014 at 7:30 PM at Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati, 1127 Vine St., Cincinnati, OH 45202. The reading will be directed by Bob Allen and is part of Cincinnati Remembers World War I, a year-long community arts celebration sponsored by Cincinnati Opera. Admission is $10. Phantom is consistent and apparently is a show that parents or grandparents want to experience with their children. My second question was am I going to enjoy the show after having already seen it once on stage and the movie (which has to be the most literal stage to screen translation ever) multiple times? I did enjoy it. As much as I did the first time I saw it, no but this tour added new and interesting elements that kept this reviewer's attention.

Over the last 20 years, CSC has brought classical theatre and literature to life for over 200,000 students from 150 schools in more than 100 zip codes across three states. This close connection with students and educators has inspired them to take on this exciting new endeavor. This season, Cincinnati Shakespeare is also "completing the canon" by producing all 38 of Shakespeare's plays. The 38 plays have served as the inspiration for the title of PROJECT 38.
