The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park's popular Off the Hill series for families continues its 2015-16 season with ANTIGONE, John Yearley's world premiere adaptation about a brave young woman who must choose between obeying the laws of men and honoring her loyalty to her family. ANTIGONE is an inventive retelling of the timeless Greek legend. Recommended for ages 11 and up, ANTIGONE will tour to Tristate community venues from Jan. 24 through Feb. 21.

Dress for Success empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Donations are also accepted in advance of the show at the Aronoff Center Box Office.

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company continues its season and multi-year history cycle with "Henry VI: The Wars of the Roses, Part 1" by William Shakespeare.  This production is directed by CSC Producing Artistic Director, Brian Isaac Phillips.  This production features Cincinnati Shakespeare's Resident Ensemble members including Darnell Pierre Benjamin at King Henry VI.  The History Cycle sponsor is Osborn, Rohs, Williams & Donohoe, LLC.  The costume design sponsors are Vantiv and Dave Herche & Wendy Thursby.

CSO Awarded $40,000 NEA Grant

In its first 50 years, the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) awarded more than $5 billion in grants to recipients in every state and U.S. jurisdiction, the only arts funder in the nation to do so. Today, the NEA announced awards totaling more than $27.6 million in its first funding round of fiscal year 2016, including an Art Works award of $40,000 to the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra to support commissions and premieres of new works including related educational activities.

CSC Sets $17 Million Campaign to Build New Theatre

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company (CSC) announced today a $17 million capital campaign titled 'Making History Unexpected' to construct a new theatre at 12th and Elm Streets, in the heart of Over-the-Rhine. The new facility will incorporate space for modern theatrical technology, increased seating capacity and lobby, expanded education and community outreach opportunities, as well as on-site production areas and administrative offices. The theatre will also become the 'finale' of a planned 'Classical Arts Corridor' connecting Music Hall, Memorial Hall, the School for Creative and Performing Arts, and Washington Park.

CSO to Perform at Princeton High School November 23

?The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, led by Music Director Louis Langree, will perform a community concert at Princeton High School on Monday, November 23 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be the Orchestra's first community performance of the 2015-16 season. The CSO will perform Tchaikovsky's dramatic Fifth Symphony, as well as Bruch's beloved First Violin Concerto with soloist Gabriel Pegis (Principal Second Violin in the CSO). The concert will open with a performance of Bach and Britten by the Princeton High School Orchestras, which will receive special coaching and instruction from CSO musicians and assistant conductors prior to the performance.
