Ignite your sense of adventure by joining the ever-curious Alice and her bubbly friends this holiday season as Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati (ETC) presents the return of one of its most popular and cherished family-friendly musicals Alice in Wonderland, playing November 28-December 30, 2018. Based on the adored, imaginative tale by Lewis Carroll, the fantastical classic receives a sassy, contemporary spin by local creative team Joseph McDonough (playwright) and David Kisor (composer and lyricist). Featuring an updated score along with ETC's hallmark of exuberant, colorful costumes, it is sure to be a sweet holiday treat for the entire family.

Quasimodo, the misshapen bell-ringer of Notre Dame Cathedral, longs to join the city of Paris during the Feast of Fools. Held captive by his devious caretaker, the Archdeacon Dom Claude Frollo, he escapes for the day and joins the boisterous crowd, only to be treated cruelly by all but the beautiful gypsy, Esmeralda. Quasimodo isn't the only one captivated by her free spirit, though - the handsome Captain Phoebus and Frollo are equally enthralled. As the three vie for her attention, Frollo embarks on a mission to destroy the gypsies - and it's up to Quasimodo to save them all.
Cincinnati Music Hall Honored With The Ohio History Connection's Preservation Merit Award

The renovation and restoration of Cincinnati Music Hall received the Preservation Merit Award from the Ohio History Connection's State Historic Preservation Office at an awards luncheon on Saturday, November 10, 2018.  Each year, the Ohio History Connection's State Historic Preservation Office recognizes outstanding achievements in historic preservation in communities across Ohio. State Historic Preservation Officer Burt Logan presented the award to Music Hall Revitalization Company (MHRC) and Society for the Preservation of Music Hall (SPMH) representative Peter Koenig, who was in Columbus at the Ohio History Center to accept the honor on behalf of MHRC and SPMH.  Peter serves on the board of MHRC and is in his fourth year as President of SPMH.

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company is pleased to announce more details on their upcoming productions this November and December.  Opening next on the mainstage will be William Shakespeare's wonderful comedy "Twelfth Night" directed by Austin Tichenor playing November 16- December 8, 2018.  Following closely after that will be the 13th Annual production of the beloved holiday classic "Every Christmas Story Ever Told (and Then Some!)" December 14- 30, 2018 directed again by Jeremy Dubin. Sponsors for "Twelfth Night" include Barnes Denig, Stock Yards Bank & Trust, and Judge (Ret.) Mark Painter.  "Every Christmas Story Ever Told" is sponsored by Messer, Raymond James, and Thompson Hine.

Cincinnati Pops Orchestra to Release Latest Album, American Originals: 1918 on Today

The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra announced the November 9 release of its latest album, American Originals: 1918, under the direction of Pops Conductor John Morris Russell. The recording is inspired by America's cultural awakening at the end of the First World War one hundred years ago and the distinctly American musical styles that reflect the country's diversity. This album celebrates and reimagines popular songs of this era that remain fresh and relevant today with acclaimed musical collaborators including Rhiannon Giddens, Steep Canyon Rangers and Pokey LaFarge. The 95th Cincinnati Pops album was recorded live at Cincinnati Music Hall November 10- 12, 2017, and is being released on the Orchestra's label, Fanfare Cincinnati.
