Gorilla Tango to Present 'Nerd-Themed' Burlesque Shows During Comic Con, 8/9-10
After a hard day of some serious geek sightings, Gorilla Tango Burlesque invites audiences to cap off their Comic Con capers by dropping in on one of its SIX - count 'em, six! - nerd-themed burlesque shows. From a Sexy Obi Wan Kenobi to an equally silly yet tantalizing mustachioed female Super Mario, Gorilla Tango Burlesque is the leader in all-female, scripted burlesque parodies. Gorilla Tango Burlesque has gone from the debut of the surprise hit "Boobs & Goombas: A Super Mario Burlesque" in October 2010 to a local burlesque/comedy powerhouse with literally thousands of audience members through the door to see its unique burlesque parodies of everything from Star Wars to Indiana Jones, from superheroes to 1990s pop-culture phenomena -- and that's just a small selection of what they have available for-- as their slogan states-- "the Discerning Nerd." GTB's first ever burlesque sequel, "The Empire Brings Sexy Back" has Star Wars fans flocking for more, and look for the return of its smash Halloween hit, "Boobs of the Dead: A Walking Dead Burlesque" coming October 2013.
