5th Avenue Theatre and Treehouse Announce CINDERELLA Shoe Drive

By:

This holiday season, Cinderella won't be the only person receiving a new pair of shoes!

As Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella takes the stage, The 5th Avenue Theatre is joining forces with Treehouse, a King County non-profit benefitting foster children, to collect new shoes for these youngsters. Through December 31, patrons who bring a pair of new shoes to The 5th Avenue Theatre Box Office (1308 5th Avenue), or drop them off in the lobby during a performance of Cinderella, will receive a coupon for a 25% discount on a ticket purchase for productions of Oklahoma!, Titanic: The Concert, Damn Yankees, or Rent.

"We are so pleased to partner with Treehouse again," said Executive Producer and Artistic Director David Armstrong. "We had the opportunity to work with this great organization during our production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and we managed to collect a staggering 250 coats! We want all of Seattle to get in the holiday spirit and help us beat this record by bringing a new pair of shoes to our Box Office through the end of the year."

Children in foster care live in an uncertain world, moving frequently with very little notice, and often just a small bag filled with their possessions. Be it sneakers, sandals, or snow boots, infants through teens will welcome the warmth and comfort of a new pair of shoes. Through December 31, new shoes may be dropped off during box office hours at The 5th Avenue Theatre, or the lobby during a performance of Cinderella.

ABOUT CINDERELLA
Bubbling with laughter, music, and a spectacular burst of makeover magic, this Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella at The 5the Avenue Theatre proves that when the shoe fits, the most unlikely of girls can become a princess and dreams really do come true. Featuring Jennifer Paz of Miss Saigon as Cinderella and Wicked star Kendra Kassebaum as the Fairy Godmother, and with direction by Seattle's own Brandon Ivie, this enchanting fairy tale includes such exquisitely romantic musical classics as "The Prince is Giving a Ball," "In My Own Little Corner," and "Impossible." From Thanksgiving to New Year's Eve, Cinderella will delight audiences of all ages, warming winter's chill with a pair of wicked stepsisters you'll love to hate, a magical carriage you'll dream of, and the romance of a lifetime.
