THE ADDAMS FAMILY Begins 6/19 at York Little Theatre

By:

They're creepy and their kooky, hilarious and spooky and they are coming to York Little Theatre (YLT)! THE ADDAMS FAMILY snaps their way onto the YLT main stage June 19-21 & 25-28 with a musical comedy based on the bizarre and beloved family of characters created by legendary cartoonist Charles Addams. Charles Addams created several thousand cartoons, sketches and drawings, many of which were published in The New Yorker. But it was his creation of characters that came to be known as The Addams Family that brought Addams his greatest acclaim. With a unique style that combined the twisted, macabre and just plain weird with charm, wit and enchantment, Addams' drawings have entertained millions worldwide and served as the inspiration for multiple television series and motion pictures.

THE ADDAMS FAMILY MUSICAL features an original story and it's every father's nightmare. Wednesday Addams has grown up and fallen in love with a normal young man her parents have never met. And if that weren't upsetting enough, she confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he's never done before -keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday's "normal" boyfriend and his parents.

The show features an elaborate two story interior set as well as an intricate graveyard complete with The Addams Family mausoleum. Intricate ghostly costumes, extraordinary special effects and snappy choreography will make the Addams Family feel right at home on the YLT stage. Rene Staub is the director, Rachel Ann Morgan is Choreographer and Matthew Schriver is the Music Director for this musical event for the entire family. Carlo Stebbings and Susie Goebeler will star as Gomez and Morticia in a cast that also includes TJ Creedon as Uncle Fester, Claudia Shanaman as Grandma, Hillary Miller as Wednesday, Sammy Trapeni as Pugsley, Rob Vendramen as Lurch, Bob Filer as Mal Beineke, Mellissa Rosenfeld as Alice Beineke and Nick Olson as Lucas Beineke. Portraying the dancestors are Grace Atherholt, Dalton Deatrick, Derek Etter, Emily Gibbs, Corey Holtzman, Madeline Kunkowski, Morgan Rinehart, Lauren Ritter, Rebecca Schrom, Chance Wonder, Hunter Zeitler,

Join YLT June 19-21 & 25-28 to take a spooky trip to visit The Addams Family! Sunday's shows start at 3pm. All other shows are at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available now at the box office by calling 854-5715, online at ylt.org with no ticketing fees, or at the door.
