Spend Your Holiday with the Herdmans at The Playhouse at Allenberry!

The rich tradition of Christmas musicals at the Allenberry Resort returns this December with The Best Christmas Pageant Ever: The Musical. Based on the classic, touching, and hysterical children's book, this heart-warming and funny story comes to life on stage in a musical that's perfect for the whole family!

The Herdmans are the worst kids in the history of the world-so when they crash Sunday school and demand parts in the Christmas pageant, the whole town panics. There's not supposed to be biting or cigar-smoking in Bethlehem, and while these kids have never even heard the Christmas story, they definitely have rewrites! Soon everyone from the terrified pint-sized shepherds to the furious church ladies are calling for reluctant director Grace Bradley to cancel the whole thing. It's up to Bradley and the Reverend to help their community see the Christmas story and the Herdman kids through new eyes in this buoyant musical adaptation of the funny and touching holiday classic. Silent night? Not a chance. But sometimes a little joyful noise is just right for Christmas.

Keystone Theatrics is thrilled to announce full casting of the first Christmas musical back at the newly renovated and reopened Playhouse at Allenberry, running from December 1-17, 2017. The production will feature a cast of 30, including Dominic Gearhart, Kate Trautlein, Gregory Freeman Jr., Caleb Greenawalt, Ashley Sheffe, and Ava Pursel as The Herdmans, Rachel Cullari, Kirsten Weirich, and Connor Petula as The Bradleys, as well as Becky Wilcox, Ron Ross, BethAnn Greenawalt, Karen Pursel, and Melanie Shirk as Helen, Reverend Hopkins, and the Church Ladies. Rounding out the cast are a talented group of young performers featuring Elena Erdley, Joshua Lamason, Rose Shyk, Christian Yeager, Avery DeBernardis, Lorraine Durbin, Naomi Keglovitz-Haynes, Madison Knavel, Sohpia Morrison, Asha Pratt, Natalie Pursel, Emma Greenawalt, Audrey Pursel, Isabelle Reed, and Rachel Yeager.

The show is directed and choreographed by husband and wife team Ryan and Sherry Boyles with vocal direction by Mary Butler George. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever: The Musical is based on the 1971 children's classic by Barbara Robinson with book and lyrics by Jahnna Beecham and music and lyrics by Malcolm Hillgartner.

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever: The Musical will be performed on December 1, 8, 15 at 7:30 PM, December 2, 9, 16 at 2:00 and 7:30 PM, and December 3, 10, 17 at 2:00 PM. The show will be performed at the Playhouse at Allenberry, located on the Allenberry Resort at 1559 Boiling Springs Road, Boiling Springs, PA 17007.
