Gamut Theatre presents A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE
By: A.A. Cristi
Gamut Theatre Group presents A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennesee Williams. Mysterious circumstances have brought Blanche DuBois to New Orleans to stay with her sister Stella and her brother-in-law Stanley. As Blanche desperately clings to a life of perfection and grandeur, Stanley has designs and desires of his own that will challenge and change his family forever. Considered by many to be one of the most sensual, dangerous, and intoxicating plays of the 20th century, A Streetcar Named Desire is a haunting tale of the delicate lies we tell, and the lives we lead in spite of them.
A Streetcar Named Desire opens on November 4, 2017 in the 220 - seat Select Medical Mainstage at Gamut Theatre located at 15 N. 4th Street (https://maps.google.com/?q=15+N.+4th+Street&entry=gmail&source=g) in downtown Harrisburg. The box office and bar will open at 6:30 p.m. and the performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. Following the opening night performance, a reception will be held where guests can meet and mingle with the director, cast and crew in Gamut's beautiful Capital Blue Lobby while enjoying delicious food and complimentary beer and wine supplied by Peggy's Pub.
