DreamWrights Announces Great Gatsby Event DreamWrights will host an evening of jazz, dance and improvisational scat on Saturday, June 30, 2018 from 7:00-10:00 pm. Don your roaring 20s garb, or slip into the 40s and swing the night away as we step into the jazz age with Inspire Jazz Quartet. These four fluent high school musicians know how to swing! Playing music that ranges from swing and bossa nova, all the way to funk and soul, these young artists create an environment that invites improvisation and fun. Three of the band members are graduating seniors: Lucas Sherman on sax, (Susquehannock High School); Connor Rohrer on keys, (Trinity High School); and Isaac Sattazahn on electric and upright bass and euphonium, (Red Lion High School); and one is a rising junior Hayden McGarvey on percussion, (Susquehannock High School). Don't let their ages fool you! They have clocked 43 years of combined musical study between them.

Participants are encouraged to slip back to their favorite time period with a befitting outfit. Don't have anything hanging in your closet? We can help! DreamWrights has a full costume rental shop just waiting for you. Costume rentals are by appointment on evenings and weekends. Don't wait until the last minute as costume appointments can't be guaranteed. Call 717-848-8623 x 228 to schedule your fitting in advance.

Enjoy this evening of Great Gatsby inspired music, dancing and finery! Doors open at 6:30 and tickets can be purchased for $15 at the door. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Beer and wine by donation.

"Saturdays in the Studio" events are graciously sponsored by the Cultural Alliance's Creative Impact Award and are designed to create a more connected community by developing partnerships with local artists and organizations, and by offering activities that reach and engage diverse audiences. In addition, many of the series events have an educational component wherein participants will learn about the craft before being part of a live performance.
