About this camp
Camp J is the Tucson Jewish Community Center's traditional day camp, running ten weekly sessions from late May through late July on the JCC campus in central Tucson. Campers are grouped by rising grade, from rising kindergarten through rising tenth grade, in units of 16 to 20 campers with two counselors each. Weekly programming includes swim instruction, sports, arts, and Chugim elective activities led by camp specialists, with Friday field trips for older units. Camp hours run 9am to 4pm, with before care from 7am and after care until 6pm included in tuition. A Leaders-in-Training track for rising ninth and tenth graders runs in two four-week sessions and covers leadership, resume building, and interview skills. Snacks are provided daily and an optional hot lunch may be ordered. An inclusion program supports campers who need additional assistance.
