Summer Camps on the River

Summer Programs on the River is the summer camp operation of Christchurch School, an Episcopal boarding and day school founded in 1921 on a 125-acre waterfront campus on the Rappahannock River in Middlesex County, Virginia, about an hour east of Richmond. Each summer the campus opens to young people from across the region through three camps: Sports on the River, a day camp in soccer, baseball, basketball and other sports with swimming and waterfront time for ages 8 to 14; Adventure Sailing on the River, a day camp in seamanship, expedition sailing and self-reliance for rising 4th through 6th graders; and Oasis on the River, an introductory overnight camp built around archery, sailing, canoeing, campfires and outdoor skills. The school also hosts visiting programs, including Traveling Players Ensemble theatre camps.

The campus also hosts visiting programs, including Traveling Players Ensemble theatre camps for grades 3-12 (2026 Session I June 28 - July 17, Session II July 19 - August 7), Tabb High School football and Capital Ultimate Frisbee Camp. Facility rentals are available through the Senior Director of Auxiliary Revenue.
