About this camp
The Ross Creek Centre for the Arts is a non-profit arts centre on a farm property in rural Kings County, Nova Scotia, operating under the CoastArts Association umbrella alongside Two Planks and a Passion Theatre. Its SummerArts camps run one week at a time for children ages 5-16, with both day-camp and overnight options; camps run Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 4:45pm and overnight campers arrive Sunday afternoon. Camps are grouped as Juniors (5-7), Intermediates (8-11) and Seniors (12-16), with subjects covering dance, theatre, musical theatre, recording, painting, printmaking, animation, film, jewellery and metalworking, textiles, graphic novels and illustration, design and architecture, and creative writing. Each week ends with a Friday afternoon showcase for families. Teen Arts Academies serve ages 14-18 and Dance Summer Dance serves ages 11-18.
Camps run Monday to Friday, 9:00am-4:45pm; overnight campers arrive Sunday at 4pm. Weekly Showcase for families Friday at 2:30pm. Fees include art materials, homemade snacks and lunch, plus supper, breakfast and accommodation for overnight campers. Juniors ages 5-7 are day-camp only (Thursday overnight add-on at 7+). Payment plans and R.J. Owen Bursary Fund financial aid available.
