About this camp
Frogwarts School of Wizardry is a role-play creativity camp in Dubuque, Iowa run by GMETC / Little Bird Creativity Company. Campers and staff alike take on wizard personas and sustain them for the full week, moving through activities that draw on science, math, reading, writing and acting. The defining feature is a story developed and dramatised in real time by campers, staff and guest artists, in which students use critical thinking, imagination and role-play to work through questions of good versus evil and right versus wrong toward themes of compassion, creativity, courage and justice. Alongside literacy and critical-thinking skills, the program offers experiential training in empathy through drama. Both 2026 sessions, July 5-11 and July 12-18, sold out; registration for 2027 opens in January.
