rev. yolanda to Perform at November 17 at the Duplex

Rev. Yolanda, singer songwriter, radical faerie gender bender and Interfaith Minister will be the subject of a full length documentary by spiritual filmmaker Ike Allen of Avaiya Media in Boulder Colorado

Rev. Yolanda (born Roger Anthony Mapes in Muscle Shoals Alabama) has spent the last 20 years performing with a passion for inspiring others to live from a place of authenticity (official bio at Roger Anthony Mapes (Rev. Yolanda) began singing/songwriting in a Gospel Bluegrass band as a teen, moved to NYC in the 80s (as performance artist Tony Mapes), discovered drag and the Radical Faeries in the 90's (becoming YOLANDA) , was inducted into the GLBT HALL of FAME as Roger Anthony Yolanda Mapes for arts achievement and political activism in 2003, graduated from Interfaith Seminary in 2011 as REV.YOLANDA, and promptly created Rev. Yolanda's Old Time Gospel Hour -a gender bending Gospel Celebration for the New Thought Generation. This musical integrqration of GLBT experience with the message of Love and acceptance for all paths caught the attention of spiritual f ilmmaker Ike Allen. The two have partnered to co-create the new documentary
