The Green Room 42 Celebrates 500th Show With Rachel York

THE GREEN ROOM 42 will celebrate its landmark 500th show this weekend as Rachel York, currently starring on Broadway in the new musical Head Over Heels, performs her concert "Thank You for the Music" on Sunday, November 18 at 7:00 PM. In advance of the venue's two-year anniversary in February 2019, the room is honored to have hosted a diverse roster of talent ranging from Tony Award-winning Broadway legends to up-and-coming rising talent. This Sunday, Rachel pays tribute to the glorious women who helped shape her career in a delightful evening of stories and song. She includes numbers made famous by early inspirations, her stage and screen favorites, and a few surprises that have touched her heart in a special way.

Rachel York is a dynamic and versatile actress best known for her critically acclaimed Broadway performances in City of Angels, Les Misérables, Victor/Victoria (Drama Desk Award) with Dame Julie Andrews, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Sly Fox, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Disaster! The Musical. She also turned heads on television with her portrayal of Lucille Ball in the CBS movie, Lucy. On tour and regionally, Ms. York received accolades most recently as Reno Sweeney in the national tour of the Tony-winning revival Anything Goes (Helen Hayes Award). She also earned rave reviews in the dual roles of Edith Bouvier Beale and "Little" Edie Beale in the Los Angeles production of Grey Gardens opposite Betty Buckley. Additionally, Ms. York starred in the national tour of Camelot opposite Michael York, Putting It Together (Manhattan Theatre Club) also with Julie Andrews, the national and London tours of Kiss Me Kate, Cruella De Vil in the national tour of 101 Dalmatians The Musical directed by Jerry Zaks, Dessa Rose at Lincoln Center, Turn of the Century opposite Jeff Daniels at The Goodman Theatre and The Odd Couple with Jason Alexander and Martin Short.

In concert, Ms. York has been a soloist worldwide including appearances with the New York Pops; the National Symphony under the direction of conductor Marvin Hamlisch; the Los Angeles Philharmonic; The Philly Pops; the San Francisco Symphony; the Jerusalem Philharmonic, among many others. She recently shared the stage as guest soloist with Michael Feinstein at Carnegie Hall. Her television appearances include "Power," "Elementary," "Hannah Montana," "Frasier," "Reba," "Numb3rs," "Close to Home," "Spin City," and "Diagnosis Murder." York's solo album, Let's Fall in Love, was named one of the Top Ten Vocal CDs of the year by Talkin' Broadway. @TheRachelYork.

THE GREEN ROOM 42 recently celebrated its one year anniversary as the theater district's premiere destination for live music and events.
