THE COSTELLO SHOW: A BURLESQUE AND VARIETY TRIBUTE TO THE OTHER ELVIS

With Anita Cookie Clams Casino, Neil O'Fortune and special guests Broadwat Brassy, Gigi & Pop, Nasty Canasta, Jo Boobs, and Ariel Levine

Friday, June 19 at 11:30 PM

Prepare for a night of indoor fireworks starring burlesque stars Anita Cookie, Clams Casino and Neil O'Fortune. The show will feature an amazing mix of live music, dance, striptease and comedy talent, including performances of Elvis's music by soulful diva Broadway Brassy, quirky musical duo Gigi & Pop, and award-winning burlesque stars Nasty Canasta and Jo Boobs. All night Elvis's classics will be played live by the house band The Imposterers, made up of the members of KiNDERGARTEN, led by Ariel Levine. The Costello Show will be a sexy, hilarious, rip-roaring night, the ideal way to celebrate his very eclectic career--spanning his angry young man punk pop, country-style balladeering, reworked jazz and standards and soulful rock and roll--by an equally diverse range of stars of New York's burlesque, cabaret, variety and rock scenes!

Clams Casino and Anita Cookie are two of New York's hardest working and most popular burlesque stars. Clams is a two-time trophy winner at the Miss Exotic World Pageant in Las Vegas, the world's only international burlesque competition; she's been called a "burlesque queen" by the New York Times and performed and produced on stages across the country. Anita is a Golden Pastie Award winner at the New York Burlesque Festival and performs solo and in a number of comedy and musical duos up and down the Eastern Seaboard. Neil O'Fortune is a popular emcee and host of the monthly Gameshow Speakeasy at the Slipper Room. Together they are Casino O'Fortune Cookie Productions, producers and stars of the acclaimed shows Killer Queen Burlesque and Borderline Burlesque: Midnight Madonna Madness at the Zipper Factory Theater and Jackson Family Values: Beat It Burlesque at Joe's Pub!

Broadway Brassy is the singing star of the troupe Big Apple Burlesque; she leads Big Apple's vintage-style shows with a booming, multi-colored voice beautifully suited to contemporary pop, American songbook classics and the blues. Big Apple performs around the country, and Brassy recently starred in their successful run, Last Call at the Starliner Lounge, at Corio in SoHo.

Gigi & Pop are the quirky pop music duo made up of DJ Momotaro and Anita Cookie. Momotaro is New York's best-dressed DJ, who can be found spinning an eclectic mix of vintage funk, soul and foreign language pop at clubs and events throughout the City and beyond, including every year at the New York Burlesque Festival and the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend in Las Vegas. Gigi & Pop combines Anita's sparkling vocals with Momotaro's range of samples and instruments from ukuleles to toy keyboards.

Nasty Canasta is a nationally respected and terrifically creative burlesque star and one half of the duo known as Pinchbottom Burlesque. In the three years since she and her partner Jonny Porkpie began producing fully-scripted burlesque shows every month at venues throughout Manhattan, Pinchbottom has been named "Best Burlesque in NYC" by New York Magazine, called "the best burlesque show in town" by the Village Voice, and as a duet Jonny and Nasty were the first performers awarded the prize for "Most Innovative" by The Burlesque Hall of Fame in 2007.

Jo Boobs is the Headmistress of the New York School of Burlesque and the country's foremost burlesque educator and one of its most beloved performers. She has brought her unique combination of classic moves and contemporary humor to stage throughout the world.

Ariel Levine is the talented singer, guitarist and songwriter who leads one of New York's best live bands, KiNDERGARTEN. KiNDERGARTEN released their first album showcasing their melodic but tough downtown sound, River of Slime, in 2007 and can be seen at stages around the city, including a recent stand at the Knitting Factory.
