The Civilians' Let Me Ascertain You: Holy Matrimony! is the latest installment in their cabaret series to be held on November 12 at Joe's Pub.

The cabaret will feature performances from Emily Ackerman, Daoud Heidami, Susannah Flood, Colleen Werthmann, Daniel Jenkins, Brad Heberlee, Greg McFadden, Emily Rossell, Trey Lyford, Jess Watkins, Brian Sgambati and Nedra McClyde. The evening will also feature original songs written by Michael Friedman, Andrea Grody, Maggie-Kate Coleman, Erato A. Kremmyda and Rebecca Hart.

In the wake of DOMA's demise, artists delve into the meaning of marriage and how we choose to celebrate it. This unique evening explores the shocking, hilarious, and touching sides of weddings, featuring interviews conducted by associate artists with couples and wedding guests across the nation. The one-night-only event features monologues and songs performed in The Civilians' investigative style taking on fairy tales to fiascos of weddings in America.

Interviews included were conducted by Nora Sørena Casey, Steve Cosson, Joel Glassman, Donetta Grey, Anima Henry, Talya Klein, and Leicester Landon.
