THE ENGAYGEMENT Heads to the Met Room Tonight

"The EnGAYgement", starring David Auxier with Seph Stanek, is set for The Metropolitan Room, tonight, August 14 at 9:30 p.m., August 19 at 7 p.m. and September 9 at 9:30 p.m. Featuring: Elliott Mattox, Chris-Ian Sanchez, Jason Whitfield and Colleen Harris, with musical direction and arrangements by Mark York. Directed by Duncan Pflaster.

THE ENGAYGEMENT is an original musical adventure through the joys and tribulations of two men in New York City; the thrall of the first date, the bliss and the challenges of building a relationship, and the victories of marriage. With music and lyrics by David Auxier-Loyola and musical arrangements by Mark York, you will take delight in the storytelling, both poignant and hilarious, through a wealth of classic musical theater style with a modern sensibility.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS:

David Auxier is a 2007 MAC Award Nominee for Special Musical Material and is the creator of the 2009 Bistro Award winning Gilbert & Sullivan cabaret I've Got a Little Twist, which continues to tour the country. Outside of cabaret, David is a principle performer with the New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players, as well as the company's choreographer and co-director. He can regularly be seen playing the Sergeant of Police in The Pirates of Penzance, Captain Corcoran in HMS Pinafore, and Pish-Tush in The Mikado. David also choreographs and performs with The Ziegfeld Society. www.davidauxier.com

Hailed by the New York Times as "lovable and very charming," Seph Stanek's musical career runs the gamut from pop to grand opera. Recent performances include a solo concert at San Francisco City Hall, I am Harvey Milk (with Kristin Chenoweth) at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall, and a production of The Pirates of Penzance at Wolf Trap with the New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players. Every weekend you can find him on 42nd Street starring in Off-Broadway's Naked Boys Singing! Mark York (Musical Director/Arranger) has been David Auxier's personal pianist since 1992. Mark is currently the pianist and co-arranger for Just Jim Dale, which recently completed an Off-Broadway run at the Roundabout, and now London's West End. He's the Executive Producer for The Ziegfeld Society, Music Coordinator for Jerry Herman and was Cy Coleman's Music Assistant. New York credits:Sweet Charity starring Christina Applegate, Busker Alley starring Jim Dale/Glenn Close, director - Tony Walton, Ziegfeld's Midnight Frolic of 2007, 2008 and 2010 starring Helen Gallagher, Jane Summerhays, Anita Gillette and Sarah Rice.
