SecondStory Repertory presents The Inverse Opera (two-night engagement) Friday May 11, 2012 at 9pm and Saturday May 12, 2012 at 9pm. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased here or by calling the box office at 425-881-6777.

Without writers, singers would have nothing to sing. Thus, The Inverse Opera celebrates the diverse and spectacular composers in its region. Our composers' music has been featured up and down this country, from Seattle to New York City, and many markets in between. Though they may be making a splash nationally, they all make their home right here in the Pacific Northwest. Featuring original compositions by Suzy Conn, Christian Duhamel, Rich Gray, Garrett Fisher, Sarah Mattox, John Muehleisen, AC Petersen, and Erica Row.

Featuring performances by Myrna Conn, Jadd Davis, Megan Chenovick, Randy Scholz, Kim Maguire, and Jenny Shotwell. Josh Brown on piano.

Be sure to come hear some world-premier performances and don't forget to bring your music and stick around afterwards for piano-roke.

TIO is already making a splash in the Puget Sound area with its lively cabarets that obliterate any preconceptions about opera as a pretentious art form. The performers set themselves within feet of the audience, creating an exciting and intimate evening. Taking advantage of the wealth of material available to the truly well-trained singer, TIO performers have given the public an opportunity to enjoy a uniquely broad spectrum of music - from Puccini to Tom Waits and everything in between.

The Inverse Opera will have four performances at SecondStory Rep in Season 14. More details to come.
