Raue Center For The Arts is excited to announce their new Cabaret Series! Patrons are invited to come experience a more intimate evening at Raue Center with this new series, which kicks off with "The Real Royal Family: Kings and Queens of the Music Industry" at 8 p.m. on August 12, 2017.

"Raue Center is committed to fostering the professional development of artistry. The recent expansion of the Cabaret program follows in the footsteps of our original Cabaret Festival that Michael Bush started almost a decade ago," says Raue Center executive director, Richard Kuranda. "Like Lucy's Comedy and Dueling Pianos, our new Cabaret Series will be hosted on our mainstage with intimate seating in a jazz club atmosphere."

Raue Center's new Cabaret Series will feature local artists and their musical accompanists in a specially designed performance space. Audiences can enjoy a drink at the bar as each artist provides an array of music that is sure to keep each event new and exciting!

"The Real Royal Family: Kings and Queens of the Music Industry" features Crystal Lake native, Tina Naponelli. She returns to Raue Center for an evening of delightful conversation and decades of hits honoring the kings and queens of the music industry. Hear the classics from Michael Jackson, Carole King and Whitney Houston as well as today's top hits from Adele and more. Whether you are in the mood for a blast from the past or a new rendition of a modern favorite, you are sure to leave the theatre singing all of these songs on repeat!

"I'm very excited to be in such an intimate setting on the Raue stage. I've done many cabarets in café settings but this will be a nice hybrid of 'grab and drink and chill' and 'date night at the show!'" says Naponelli. "I love doing cabarets, especially at Raue Center, because the crowd is always fun, inviting and open to anything."

Naponelli is a proud graduate of North Central College, where she studied theatre performance. Her recent theatre credits include "Tomorrow Morning" (Kokandy Productions), "Beehive" and "Suds: The Rocking 60's Musical" (Williams Street Rep), "It's a Wonderful Life" and "Columbinus 2.0" (American Theater Company).

Tickets are $10 in advance ($15 at the door) and can be purchased online at rauecenter.org or via the Box Office at 815.356.9212 or 26 N. Williams Street in downtown Crystal Lake.
