Radio Happy Hour, your monthly murder mystery that's not really on the radio, returns in March with Cursive's Tim Kasher caught at the scene of a crime in a house full of squashed artistic hopes. Novelist Arthur Phillips seems to have given up the written word and appears at the scene of the crime as a rookie detective, and somehow sibling comedians John and Molly Knefel have found themselves embroiled in the steamy crime as well. Tickets for the show are available here.

Radio Happy Hour, the radio show not on the radio, is a live variety show featuring a made-for-radio murder mystery sitcom, guest stars, musical performances, an audience quiz, and interviews. As with the show every month Radio Happy Hour will be punctuated with a happy hour in the Gallery at (le) Poisson Rouge with the stars, and more than a few surprises.

Radio Happy Hour is the creation of Sam Osterhout, who also writes each episode and serves as the show's host. "Even when the mystery is asinine, it's hilarious on stage because it takes the guest star out of his/her comfort zone," said Osterhout, "That's my goal with this show: to tell a good, funny story and to give the audience a little bit of the guest star that they've never seen before. The results are always surprising, and always funny." The show also stars actors Matt Skibiak and Robin Reed, with music by Stephanie Davila (aka StarDweller).

All of the hour-long performances of Radio Happy Hour occur on Saturdays, at 2 pm with doors opening at 1pm. Single show tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door. The event takes place at (Le) Poisson Rouge where the audience will partake in happy hour libations and brunch with a possible side of tater tots.

The show streams live online and is podcast for free following each performance. You can hear a sample of the first four installments of Radio Happy Hour, with Norah Jones, Michael Showalter, Andrew W.K. and Tunde Adebimpe of TV on the Radio here.
