In his 10th year of sold out shows at The Carlyle, Steve gave his audience a spectacular musical surprise
It probably will go down as one of Cafe Carlyle's most memorable 15 minutes. In this, his 10th year of sold out shows at The Carlyle, Steve gave his audience a spectacular musical surprise. It happened midway through his Brill Building songwriters tribute show titled "That Lovin Feelin" as he announced that Neil Sedaka was in the house.
I'm used to seeing lots of celebrities at a Steve Tyrell performance but Sedaka, who is one of the music worlds most gifted and successful composer/performers was coaxed to joining Steve on stage. This is what happened, and the lucky audience will always be saying "we were there the night..." I wonder what other surprises Mr. Tyrell has for us?
It's now no surprise that Neil Sedaka will be performing New Years at the legendary Le Cirque restaurant. Steve Tyrell will not be joining him! He will be at his usual spot at Cafe Carlyle.
