No Name Presents The Uptown Cabaret, Begins 2/17
Inspired by the Fabulous Jennifer Wren's Big Night Out and Eric Vetter's No Name and a Bag of Chips, No Name Presents: The Uptown Cabaret is an opportunity to play; to enjoy your music; your art; an opportunity to share this joy with your fellow singers, composers and lyricists. Bring that new audition song! Bring that song that you'd never get to sing otherwise! Bring that new material for your BMI class and test it out in a safe and fun place!
But why the heck is it so...far...uptown?Many of our Big Night Out regulars live so...far...up in The Heights or in Inwood. (Including ME!) There are so many singers and composer people up in this 'hood and we have always had to make the trek to midtown or downtown...so why not up HERE? We have a great neighborhood that is continually growing. We have this fab café-with a piano-near a beautiful park...you almost don't want to tell anybody about what's up here and spoil the secret. But for those of you not from Upstate Manhattan, we invite you to come on up and play with us!Indian Road Café offers an excellent wine and beer -and coffee!-selection as well as great food from paninis to lobster mac and cheese, all amidst a warm and casual atmosphere.
